Biography

I am a 3rd year PhD candidate in the Cell & Developmental Biology subprogram of the Biomedical Sciences Umbrella Program. My current research focuses on understanding the role of the dynein motor protein in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy. In my work I utilize both tissue culture and transgenic mouse models. I also serve as the current President and Connecting Science to Society at Iowa. When I am not in the lab, you can find me hanging out with friends/family, at the gym, or watching my latest favorite reality TV show.
